A choral concert from the British Library and British Museum Singers
The British Library and British Museum Singers perform music from Germany and beyond reflecting the changes in musical style after the Protestant Reformation.
The programme, conducted by Peter Hellyer, will include excerpts from Bach’s Cantatas 140 (Wachet auf), 80 (Ein feste Burg), 4 (Christ lag in Todes Banden) and 169 (Gott soll allein mein Herze haben) together with music by Brahms, Byrd, Dvořák, Mendelssohn and Schütz. This free concert will be accompanied by Chris Scobie.
