Olivia Laing is a writer and critic, and has written for The Guardian, New York Times and Frieze among many publications. She is the author of To The River, which was shortlisted for the Ondaatje Prize, The Trip to Echo Spring, which was shortlisted for the Costa Biography Award and the Gordon Burn Prize, and The Lonely City, which was shortlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism and has been translated into 15 languages. In 2018 she received the Windham-Campbell Prize.
