With Elif Shafak, Shola Mos-Shogbamimu and Sandi Toksvig.

This is an online event hosted by Unique Media. Bookers will be sent a link in advance giving access and will be able to watch at any time for 48 hours after the start time.

The Primadonna Festival brings together writers, editors and performers, as well as happy people of all ages and backgrounds, to explore ideas and imagine new possibilities. They call it “the world as it should be, for one weekend”. Sandi Toksvig and Shola Mos-Shogbamimu will join Elif Shafak for a joyful and irreverent exploration of how the world should be. Look out for some mystery guest appearances. To add to the mix, this year’s Primadonna Prize, bestowed on a writer without an agent or publishing contract, will be awarded live!

Elif Shafak is the award-winning British-Turkish author of 18 books. Her latest novel, 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and RSL Ondaatje Prize, and chosen as Blackwell’s Book of the Year in 2019. Her earlier novel The Forty Rules of Love was included by the BBC among 100 Novels that Shaped Our World. Elif is a Fellow and a Vice-President of the Royal Society of Literature.

Born in Copenhagen, Sandi Toksvig was brought up around the world in Europe, Africa and the United States. As well as hosting QI and The Great British Bake Off, Sandi chaired The News Quiz, which led to her induction into the Radio Hall of Fame. Sandi is an activist for gender equality. In 2014 she co-founded the Women’s Equality Party.

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu is a New York attorney and solicitor of England and Wales. A political and women’s rights activist, she founded the Women in Leadership publication and established She@LawTalks to promote women and BAME leadership in the legal profession.
