The legendary survivalist launches his new book and talks to Selina Scott about the secrets of the wild

This is an online event. Bookers will be sent a link in advance giving access and will be able to watch at any time for 48 hours after the start time.

Learn from the stealth of the leopard and the patience of the crocodile with survival expert Ray Mears, who has spent a lifetime in the natural world. Providing practical fieldcraft tips and insights into the secrets of the countryside, Ray will reflect on his work as a broadcaster and on ‘Woodlore’ his School of Wilderness Bushcraft. Learn how to tune your senses, enhance the experience of nature and understand your place within it.

The new book We Are Nature: How to Reconnect to the Outdoors will be launched at this event and available at The British Library’s online bookshop.

Ray Mears is a TV presenter, instructor and bestselling author and has become recognised throughout the world as an authority on bushcraft and survival. TV series including Ray Mears' Bushcraft, Ray Mears' World of Survival, Extreme Survival and Ray Mears goes Walkabout have made him a household name over the past two decades, but he has spent his life learning these skills, and founded Woodlore, The School of Wilderness Bushcraft, over 35 years ago. He has published 13 books and lives in Sussex with his wife and stepson.

Selina Scott is an international journalist. She was one of the first anchor women in the UK and launched Breakfast television for the BBC in Britain. In the 1980s, her broadcasting on the slaughter of Kenyan elephants for CBS led to an international CITIES ban on the ivory trade. Selina continues to write and broadcast regularly. She is currently rewilding her farm in North Yorkshire.
