Join us for a free autism-friendly early opening of the British Library.
This early opening is for families with children on the autism spectrum and other sensory needs. Enjoy the Library free from the hustle and bustle of the general public.
At this special early opening, you’ll get the opportunity to explore our Family Station, located on the Upper Ground Floor of the British Library St Pancras, which includes creative resources full of ideas to explore, make and play in the Library. Start your family adventure here, then go off to discover our building and learn all about the Library.
The station has fun interactive activities, sensory materials and an exciting range of children’s books including tactile and braille editions. You are welcome to sit, feed your little ones and enjoy a family packed-lunch around the Family Station.
A dedicated sensory room will also be available for children needing a quieter and calmer space.
Our team will be on hand to support your visit and answer any questions
All visitors to this special early opening will receive a visual story in advance to provide an idea of what to expect on arrival. Please note that the Library opens to the general public at 11.00.
All tickets need to be pre-booked for everyone in your party.
