Join us for a free autism-friendly early opening of the British Library
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Library at this event for families with children on the autism spectrum and other sensory needs. Enjoy the Library free from the hustle and bustle of the general public and with new measures to keep everyone safe.
Explore our permanent gallery, Treasures of the British Library, and take part in a workshop in our Learning Centre. A dedicated sensory room will also be available for children needing a quieter and calmer space.
All visitors to this special early opening receive a visual story in advance to provide information on what to expect on arrival.
We’ve made some changes to keep everyone safe during this opening:
• Limited numbers, a one-way system around the Library and spaced out tables in the Learning Centre so everyone can keep a safe distance
• Regular enhanced cleaning of the spaces and equipment, and hand sanitiser stations for everyone to use
• Adults and children over 11 will need to wear a face covering unless exempt.
