Two days of inspirational Arab literature
Download the full programme
Be amused, moved, uplifted, provoked and soothed by tales from across the Arab world and diaspora. You’ll travel across literary genres from poetry to graphic novels, science fiction to romance; where the traditional meets the experimental and everything in between.
Featuring big names and emerging voices, both in Arabic and in translation, this diverse group of writers are each working against the grain and pushing back against the status quo.
Presented by Shubbak Festival in association with the British Library with support from: The A. M. Qattan Foundation; Arab Fund for Arts and Culture – AFAC; British Council; International Prize for Arabic Fiction; Al Mawred Al Thaqafy; The British Institute for the Study of Iraq; and Institut français du Royaume-Uni. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
