Sounding the Sky

Sounding the Sky

Come on an immersive audio journey around the Library

Sounding the Sky is a new immersive audio story show created especially for the British Library, transforming it from a study space into a theatre space. Audiences will be taken on a journey around secret rooms, balconies and terraces to experience a sequence of sound-rich stories about the sky. Expect to lie down in a virtual meadow, step out on a roof terrace amidst constellation projections, perch up high above the main foyer like a skydiver, and enter a forest of lyrebirds in one of the hallowed reading rooms.

Stories will feature the voice of actor Sam West, music from Aurora Orchestra, and soundscapes by award-winning audio makers Cathy Fitzgerald and Hana Walker-Brown.
