This workshop uses discursive and creative activities, involving poetry, spoken word, and photography, to build learners’ confidence in analysing and interpreting visual work and in articulating individual ideas and perspectives.
Learners will investigate the work of the late Gambian-British artist Khadija Saye. Saye’s powerful and evocative series of photographic self-portraits, Dwelling: in this space we breathe, explore themes of identity, ritual and healing. Prints of these works were exhibited at the Library in 2021 and are now part of the collection.
