‘We exist in the marriage of physical and spiritual remembrance. It’s in these spaces…[that] we identify with our physical and imagined bodies. Using myself as the subject, I felt it necessary to physically explore how trauma is embodied in the black experience.’ Khadija Saye
In this live online session learners investigate the process and work of the late Gambian-British artist Khadija Saye through her powerful and evocative series of photographic self-portraits, Dwelling: in this space we breathe. Led by creative practitioners and using discursive and creative activities the session builds learners' confidence in analysing and interpreting visual work and in articulating individual ideas and perspectives.
