Susan Hill's many novels include the most celebrated ghost story of modern times, The Woman in Black, which has sold millions of copies worldwide, been staged in the West End for 26 years, and was made into a film starring Daniel Radcliffe. Her latest, Printer's Devil Court, is another haunting masterpiece.
In a wide-ranging conversation with Stephanie Merritt (who writes novels as SJ Parris) she discusses her approach to storytelling.
