A special Africa Writes evening of enchanting performances.

This event will take place in the British Library. It will also be live streamed and available to watch by booking an Africa Writes Online Pass, either live or within a week on catch up. Links for the online version will be sent out shortly before the event.

Join us for a captivating evening of storytelling and musical brilliance, featuring a live reading from the compelling short story anthology, The Edge of Here by Kelechi Okafor, accompanied by the enchanting musician Yahael Camara Onono.

The Edge of Here is a literary treasure trove, a collection of short stories that promise to take you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. Each story is a window into a different world, exploring the depths of human nature, the essence of love, the thrill of adventure, and the enigma of life.

Kelechi Okafor is a Nigerian-born, London-based actress, director, podcaster and writer. She is known for crafting works of fiction, articles, stage plays and screenplays.  Her award-winning podcast, Say Your Mind, focusses on globally relevant conversations and events, framed through a lens of understanding that is firmly anti-colonial, white-supremacy, and heteropatriarchy.

Adding a symphony of sounds to this literary journey is the exceptional musician, Yahael Camara Onono. With his virtuoso talent and unique blend of musical styles, Yahael will provide the perfect accompaniment to the stories, creating an immersive and unforgettable experience for all.
