The story of Margaret Beaufort, the founding matriarch of the Tudor dynasty
Additional date added due to demand, book for 13 December here
Historian Nicola Tallis tells the story of Margaret Beaufort, mother of Henry VII, the first Tudor king, in this illustrated lecture. Delving deep to find the truth behind the myths and misconceptions surrounding Margaret, Nicola reveals the life of an extraordinarily ambitious and devoted woman who risked everything to ultimately found the Tudor dynasty.
Dr Nicola Tallis is a British historian and researcher. Her first two biographies, Crown of Blood: The Deadly Inheritance of Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth’s Rival: The Tumultuous Tale of Lettice Knollys, Countess of Leicester, were published to critical acclaim. She has previously lectured at the University of Winchester and worked with Historic Royal Palaces and the National Trust. Uncrowned Queen: The Fateful Life of Margaret Beaufort, Tudor Matriarch is Nicola’s eagerly anticipated third book and the first comprehensive biography in over 30 years of Margaret Beaufort.
