Take part in a fun-filled family day inspired by our exhibition, Writing: Making Your Mark. A limited number of tickets will be available on the door.

Explore the wonderful world of letters, fonts and styles. Transform words into art as you screen print a poster, build sculptures made of words and try Japanese calligraphy. Experiment with writing tools of all shapes and sizes.

Enjoy writing-inspired dance performances in partnership with The Place, the UK's premiere centre for contemporary dance. Or join a curator to listen to the secrets and stories behind the making of the exhibition.

Younger audiences can explore the mythical origins of writing in our musical storytelling sessions. End the day curled up in our family reading corner and sensory room.

The day includes a complimentary visit to Writing: Making Your Mark.

BSL interpretation, braille and tactile books are available throughout the day.

Important booking information: The Family Day runs from 11.00 to 15.00. Drop in, artist-led workshops happen throughout the event and you can attend any of these with your event ticket. When you select Book Now you will be asked to book a time slot to visit the exhibition as part of your event booking.  This slot cannot be changed once it is booked.
