A vibrant musical celebration

A warm and welcoming evening in the heart of the Library to close the first day of the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival. Neeraj Arya’s group, Kabir Café play a moving and danceable blend of Southern Indian Carnatic flavours fused with pop, reggae, rock and folk.  All their lyrics are taken from the soulful and timeless verses of mystic poet Kabir.

Largely influenced by renowned Kabir singer Prahlad Tipanya, Neeraj has pioneered the genre known as Kabir Rock. Kabir Café features Neeraj Arya on vocals and rhythm guitars, Mukund Ramaswamy on violin, Raman Iyer on mandolin, Viren Solanki on percussions and Poubuanpou Britto KC on bass guitar. Having played over 475 gigs across India, the band recently released their debut album Panchrang – Musical Echoes of Kabir.

Doors open 19.00, performance begins 19.30. Please note that this is not a seated event. A bar and food will be available.

Entry is included in JLF Weekend Passes (Premium and Standard) and Saturday Pass, or may be booked separately.
