Here's an overview of the delivery options available to you when ordering from our Imaging Services

With our standard service British Library Imaging Services will process your order within 15 working days of the date we receive it. This doesn’t include weekends, public holidays or the time it takes for your order to be delivered. In some cases the outcome of preservation checks may cause a delay, but we will notify you if this is the case.

We deliver all Imaging orders by first class post as standard. For an extra fee you can choose to have your order delivered by Tracked mail, courier or Air Mail for international delivery.

You can also arrange to collect your order from the British Library. Just select the ‘Collect’ delivery option and we will contact you to arrange an appropriate time and collection point.

Digital images are provided on a CD or electronic delivery is also available. We don’t send images via email, due to the size of the the image files we supply. Paper copies will be provided in the format and quality you’ve requested.

If you need an image quickly, you can upgrade your order to express delivery for an additional fee per item. Just note this in the additional information box for each item you want.

Express delivery guarantees that we will process your order within 5 working days, subject to material availability and our usual preservation checks.

If you are requesting delivery to an overseas address, we advise that you choose the courier or Tracked mail options as we can’t control delays caused by postal services.
