Schools and teachers

Important information

For the welfare of our users and staff the Library's sites are closed in London and Boston Spa for the time being. The Schools Programme is currently not accepting bookings until further notice. You can explore a wealth of online learning resources on our website and keep up to date with us on Twitter.

Our programme of workshop for PrimarySecondary and FE learners encourages curiosity, creativity and exploration, enriching the curriculum and developing lifelong learning skills. We also offer self-guided visits for school groups, enabling independent exploration of our galleries and public spaces.

Our CPD events support teachers to develop subject knowledge, reinvigorate classroom practice and rediscover a passion for their subject, with conferences and twilight sessions featuring well-respected authors, academics and educational practitioners. Our website is brimming with ideas and inspiration for the classroom, from Gothic literature to medieval history and from World War One to feminism.
