British Library document supply relaunched

British Library Treasures app

The British Library’s new on Demand service builds on over 50 years of document delivery experience, bringing you the same great range of content on a platform that is more robust and simpler to use

Published date:
Document Supply has been a core service at the British Library for over 50 years, providing valuable remote access to the Library’s collections. British Library on Demand takes over where Document Supply left off. It meets today’s research challenges head on, providing researchers with flexible, mobile access and organisations with integrated corporate solutions.

What’s new?
Our ordering system, which powers both the online and integrated services, has been upgraded and is now more robust. We’ve reviewed the system infrastructure to increase reliability and further improvements are already in the pipeline.

Our online platform has had a makeover and is now completely mobile compatible, making it even easier to access content from the British Library, whenever you need it, wherever you need it.  The platform is currently a Beta release and we are refining it all the time, so if you notice something that could be improved, please contact us [].

Our integrated solution [link: Integration] was launched in March 2014 and we already have several library management system providers and aggregators developing with us.  This will replace the current ARTEmail requesting system by Spring 2017. Look out for changes to your organisation’s library systems or ask your library management system provider about integration with British Library on Demand
