Our programme of cultural and learning activities in Leeds continues this season. We’re working with some of the best festivals in the city to bring more of our collection and expertise to people in West Yorkshire.
These events have now taken place.
Leeds Digital Festival
In September we’ll host a free online discussion that imagines your digital existence as a library – part of the two-week open-platform festival that celebrates digital culture in all its forms.
Our team will share their expertise in digital preservation, considering how you might manage your own digital collection in the age of data giants.

Light Night Leeds
Leeds’s annual free multi-arts and light festival is back for two nights, 14 and 15 October. We’ve dived into our collections with The Lantern Company and composer Roma Yagnik to uncover sights and sounds of night-time wildlife. Our Nature at Night display is sure to delight attendees.

Thought Bubble Comic Art Festival
In November we join Yorkshire’s celebration of comics, their creators and their fans. We’ll dive into the challenges – and opportunities – that disruptive digital technology presents to publishing, and how libraries like ourselves are responding.
We’re also hosting a Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon and inviting comic makers and artists to add their work to the national collection.
We have a growing programme of events and activities in Leeds. See our dedicated webpage for the latest information.
