We're enhancing our storage facilities in Boston Spa and some of our collections are being moved to enable this work. As a result, some of the items you requested might not be available while they're being moved.

We’re transforming our Boston Spa site, where over 70% of our collection is housed. We need to move over 100 linear km of collections of items to make way for the construction of new and improved storage. We are trying to limit the impact of this work as much as possible.

Right now the Report Microform Collection (also known as RMS) isn’t available. Items affected will show as ‘temporarily unavailable’ in our main catalogue, Explore the British Library. If you have any concerns about access to items please get in touch with us.

We hope to have the RMS collection back on site in three years, but with a transformation programme of this size there’s a chance it may take longer.

Access to other material in our document supply collection may also be limited over the next few years while we improve our storage facilities
