Feria Quinta and the Feast of Corpus Christi, Pages 268 and 279
The right-hand page, containing the text for the feast of Corpus Christi, has
a full border and an architectural niche containing the figure of Abbot Bruyning,
the missal's patron. The initial shows the Eucharist being celebrated, watched
over by the Trinity. The architectural details might represent Sherborne Abbey
itself. The left-hand page, for Feria Quinta, has an initial containing an angel
blowing a trumpet, and holding a key. This decoration continues the theme of
the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
