The Head of Collection Care and Metadata Management manages the teams responsible for a significant proportion of the life cycle of collections.  This includes responsibility for the creation of metadata and for developing metadata strategies and methods, so that items can be discovered by users, for example through catalogues.  Collection Care ensures the physical collection, in all its variety, is cared for and preserved through preventive and remedial measures. She also has responsibility for Loans Registry which enables collection items to be loaned for exhibition to other institutions and venues.
