Janet Zmroczek is Head of European and Americas Collections at the British Library. She is a member of the Institute of Modern Language Research Advisory Council and an external member of the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies Library and Information Services Committee. Janet's principal areas of interest include: Literary translation and dissemination of European literature in the UK; the cultural and social life of the Polish community in Britain; Central Asia and the Caucusus in the Soviet era; European cultural and library collections; and the history and development of the British Library. She holds a degree in Russian Studies from the University of Sussex.
