Jean Petrovic is Bibliographical Editor at the Eccles Centre for American Studies at the British Library where she promotes the Library’s North American collections and supports the Centre’s programme of events and activities.

Jean has written many bibliographies highlighting aspects of the US collections. Recent subjects include the Harlem Renaissance, early American women writers, and the Federal Writers Program of the 1930s. Additionally, she has curated numerous online exhibitions, including ‘American sheet music, 1840-1920s’ and ‘British Travellers to the American West, 1860-1900’, and has developed and delivers American Studies research training seminars to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also writes blogs for the American Collections blog showcasing the British Library’s American holdings. Jean edits many of the Eccles Centre’s publications and supports its wide-ranging and lively programme. She holds a BA (Hons) in American Studies, an MA in American History and a Master of Library Science.
