Position: Finance mentor and coach

Julie works on our Get Ready for Business Growth scale-up programme and delivers the Financial Planning for Growth one-to-one sessions. She is an accountant with over 25 years of experience from small businesses to big blue-chip corporates, in a wide range of industries including not-for-profits to retail banking, property and fintech.

What can people expect from your session?

“I aim to take the fear out of finance. Everything you do in business has a financial impact so I work to help people understand the language of finance and to unlock the value of the information that is held within all their accounts and financial information. For me, using finance to look forward. We look at what the future looks like financially. Also, we work on cash flow, as cash is the oxygen to your business. You can’t make good decisions when you are starved of oxygen and the same goes for cash.

Previous attendees have enjoyed that together we look at the bigger picture, I love it when they say it was relatable and relevant for their businesses, and often not what they expect from a finance session.”

“Start now – perfect it later. We all procrastinate, often because of wanting the perfect product or perfect time but get it done.”
