Mahendra Mahey is the Project Manager of British Library Labs, an Andrew Mellon Foundation funded initiative which supports and inspires the use of the British Library’s digital collections and data in exciting and innovative ways. British Library Labs, an extension of the Digital Research Team, encourages and supports scholars and innovators to work with us and our collections through competitions, awards and other engagement activities.
Mahendra has a strong background of working with digital technology as a manager, educator and adviser in Further and Higher Education for researchers, educators, librarians and businesses both in the UK and internationally. He has previous experience of working on a number of collaborative projects with UKOLN (University of Bath), including the Jisc-funded UK Developer Community Supporting Innovation (DevCSI) initiative and ‘Developer Happiness’ events, CERIFy (Implementing a European Data Model for Managing Research Information) and the Digital Repositories Research Team (RRT).
Mahendra was an e-resources adviser for the Jisc Regional Support Centres (England and Scotland) and has more than a decade’s experience of working as a lecturer in Social Sciences (specialising in Child Development), Computing, Multimedia, and English for Speakers of Other Languages in Further and Higher Education internationally.
