Following B.A and M.A degrees in History from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, I began my archival career at Tyne and Wear Archives Service before joining the British Library in 2002.
I am based at the British Library’s site at Boston Spa and lead the UK Web Archive Curatorial Team, working to Ian Cooke.
I am responsible for the Library's web archiving strategy and the on-going road map for web archiving capability, ensuring that stakeholders across the Legal Deposit Libraries, and other partners, have the necessary tools for curating websites according to their own collection development policies. I ensure that the UK Web Archive collection is fit for purpose for our myriad users.
The UK Web Archiving Team is well renowned in the international archiving community. We speak at conferences and events internationally and are active members of the International Internet Preservation Consortium.
Our open access web archive collections and our Legal Deposit content are available through the reading rooms of the UK Legal Deposit Libraries.
