Philip Eagle is Subject Librarian for Science, Technology and Medicine. His responsibilities involve deciding what material the British Library acquires in those subject areas, both hard copy and digital, and promoting the Library's collection to actual and potential users.
His initial academic background was in chemistry and he has a library qualification from City University of London. In earlier years at the Library he was involved with the Business & IP Centre and the Library's intellectual property collection, and he still contributes a quarterly column to the journal World Patent Information on IP information that is freely available online.
