The first part of this collection (1837-1867) contains 476 manuscript letters and the second (1868-1916) contains almost 1700 letters written by Prime Ministers to the Sovereign after each meeting. These letters vary from brief statements of subjects discussed, to more detailed accounts.

Gustave Moreau (1826-1898) was one of the most original and eccentric French painters of the 19th century. He remained oblivious of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, although he taught Matisse and Rouault. This is a collection of 54 black and white microfiche containing  5,000 of Moreau's drawings, cartoons, sketches and working drawings.

The collection covers maps and plans of engagements on land and sea. Included are s of battle, plans of fortifications, annotated drawings of battles and sieges. The collection ranges from Venetian and Papal naval engagements with the Turks, through Portuguese bombardments of Brazilian coastal towns. Included are maps of Devon and Cornwall sea defences from 1588, fortification of Antwerp, the Elector of Saxony's engagements, Russian and Polish campaigns, the Swedish campaigns in Germany, the siege of Prague. Continental Europe, in particular the Low Countries, is well represented.
