84. EARLY CORRESPONDENCE OF THE LOWELL OBSERVATORY, 1894-1916.
10 reels of microfilm.
This collection records some 14,700 documents dating from 1894, when
the Observatory was founded, through to 1916, when Dr. Lowell died.
Included are 37 frames of photographs showing Lowell
and the Observatory and its staff during the early period of its history. Approx 7,000 of the documents are direct copies of letters found in 14 press letter books of correspondence by Lowell and members of his staff.
