Last Supper Repeat Buttons

A selection of unique hand glazed buttons inspired by the work of Leonardo da Vinci.

Product details

Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s mathematical, engineering and plant studies, along with his colour palette for The Last Supper, these hand-glazed buttons are made by Edinburgh-based ceramicist Sandra Brown for Craft Design House.

Sandra found common ground and inspiration in the repetitive nature of Leonardo's studies. Working with these as a basis, Sandra drew these sources of inspiration together to create two interrelated textured surface designs. She used these to bring form to a collection of limited edition buttons. For colour, Sandra turned to the Last Supper, drawing out a wide variety of rich and pastel tones which reflected the pigments that were available to Leonardo and reference his careful use of colour for its symbolic purposes.

Every button is made by Sandra for Craft Design House using unique moulds, and each one is individually hand glazed, so there is some variation in colour and finish. Please select your colour preference from the drop down menu, and how many buttons you would like to purchase (price is per button).
