Simon Evans, Castrads Limited

The BIPC helped Simon get in contact with law firms that specialise in IP protection.

Simon Evans

Castrads was founded in 2006 and makes bespoke cast iron radiators, priding themselves on making a product that will last centuries. Head of Product, Simon Evans, is responsible for the design and development of the product range and used BIPC Greater Manchester for help with IP and expanding into international markets.

The BIPC helped Simon get in contact with law firms that specialise in IP protection. As they expand into new markets, they can now be comfortable in the fact that they have control over their intellectual property and can ensure there are no imitations. Following on from their initial contact with the BIPC in Greater Manchester, Castrads went on to join the Business & IP Centre’s scale-up programme, Get Ready for Business Growth. Starting as a small family-run team, based on a farm in Cheshire, Castrads now have showrooms in Manchester, London, New York, and have 65 employees based across the UK, America and Poland. The EU is served out of their plant in Poland where they have a mobile showroom.
