Added inscription related to Henry VII (b. 1457, d. 1509), king of England and lord of Ireland, and Elizabeth [Elizabeth of York] (b. 1466, d. 1503), queen of England, his consort: inscribed, 'God save kyngge Harre / and kyenne Ellessabet' (f. i). ?Shelfmark of a very large number in brown ink (Carley's 'Old Large Number') '63', (f. i). The Old Royal Library (the English Royal Library): included in the Catalogue of 1666, f. 14. Presented to the British Museum by George II in 1757 as part of the Old Royal Library. |

Translations of the lives of Martin of Tours, Brice, Ives of Provence, Martial, Nicolas, Jerome, Benedict, and Alexis were attributed to Wauchier de Denain (see Meyer 1906 and Thompson 1999). According to Branner 1977, illuminated by 4 artists, of whom 3 are related to: 1. New York Pierpont Morgan Library 92; 2. Rouen, Bibliothèque Municipale 3016, former Leber 6 (Laber Group); 3. Warsaw, Biblioteka Narodowa 8003, former Potocki collection (the Potocki Atelier); the fourth hand remains unidentified. |
